Joining us this week will be Damaged927, a talented artist and former Volunteer!
monstash: Why did you decide to make the leap and become a deviant?
Damaged927: Back in 2006 and I had just started getting into drawing and art. I drew my first picture and I thought to myself, where am I going to share this? Up until that point the only online community I was an active member of was a game making board so it wasn't really the right "place" to share artwork. I remember another forum member, sererena, was offering up game background commissions (or something like that) around that time and she had a deviantArt page. So, I went to her page, checked out her work and thought, yup, this looks like a good place to post So, I joined up then
monstash: About how many times a week do you use deviantART?
Damaged927: Just about every waking minute Seriously
monstash: Do you feel that your experience as a Community Volunteer is something that will stay with you for a while? Why or why not?
Damaged927: Absolutely. It'll stay with me because I'll continue to get DD suggestions for the next year so it'll be impossible to forget Okay, I kid (sorta )
Being a CV is one of the most rewarding and enriching experiences I have had Partaking in dA as a volunteer is a very unique experience for a deviant. It shows a side of the site that is fascinating and the CR team is one of the best groups I have ever had the pleasure of being a part of. Being a volunteer has also taught me a lot of life lessons and management skills. And, in other ways, it has helped me with my patience (or lack thereof ) I can't really put my finger on it but, no, I won't forget my time as a CV
monstash: Choosing from your deviantART gallery, which is the deviation that you are most proud of?
Damaged927:
This piece took everything I had to make and I am mighty proud of it
monstash: Lastly, is there anything you'd like to promote to the readers of this issue?
Damaged927: Um, could I shamelessly promote my book?
Paperback
Kindle
A huge thanks to Damaged927 for taking the time to sit down with us and explain his sentiments on his deviantART experience from the Senior-side of the community!
